British Chinese Kuoshu Association


The British Chinese Kuoshu Association (BCKA), was established in June 2010, it replaced the British Chinese Kuoshu Federation (BCKF), its predecessor, which was established in October 1986. BCKA is the official governing body for Chinese Kuoshu and representative of the International Chinese Kuoshu Federation (ICKF) in the United Kingdom. BCKA is a non-political, non-profit making and voluntary organisation based in the United Kingdom. Working with professionals and volunteers, BCKA has been established to promote and develop the benefits of Chinese Kuoshu (traditional Chinese martial arts) under the aegis of the ICKF and European Sub-Association. The BCKA aims to develop and continuously improve: coaching standards; child protection practice; and safe recruitment policy, for traditional Chinese martial arts schools and clubs based in the United Kingdom.

BCKA Referees and Judges

 

Referee and Judges Programme is renowned for producing some of the best Referees and Judges for traditional Chinese martial arts in the UK.

 

The courses have been develped and are run by ICKF Internationally qualified Referees and Judges.

BCKA and Safeguarding Children

 

The Child Protection in Sport Unit Martial Arts Working Group have been tasked with addressing the lack of consistency and standardisation in coaching, child protection and safer recruitment practice.

 

The BCKA support and endorse the work of the CPSU in safeguarding children in their participation in Chinese martial arts.

What we do

The British Chinese Kuoshu Association is focused on professionalising martail arts instruction and coaching standards in the Unitied Kingdom and affiliate schools in the Republic of Ireland.

Although self-governing, BCKA will work in partnership with national and international organisations to promoting best practice in martial arts coaching and organisational management. This includes professionalising coaching standards working with relevant organisations in the UK and internationally.
